Students are invited to join evening activities on campus where they will connect with fellow Pre-College students from around the globe, meet UM undergraduate students, and interact with University of Miami personnel. Students gain confidence in their ability to navigate collegiate life through a wide array of college preparation workshops and social programming.* To promote student success every student is paired with a Pre-College staff mentor to provide student support and connect them with campus resources during their journey at the University of Miami. Students are grouped in learning communities called academic tracks, which are cohorts of students who enroll in the same two courses, share common academic goals, and work collaboratively in and out of the classroom. Students form supportive friendships with their peers, as they learn, study and engage with the college community. On weekends, students have the opportunity to explore Miami and South Florida by participating in activities organized and chaperoned by program staff. Off-campus activities may include: snorkeling in Key Largo, attending a Miami Marlins baseball game, touring Miami Beach and Wynwood, and exploring the Everglades. Note: excursions are included in Tuition and Program fees). Mentorship Program
